Following an incredible, massive 6-date sell-out tour across Australia in 2025, multi-platinum alternative rock band, The Fray, are making a triumphant return down under in February 2027 headlining Lookout Festival.

The Fray will be supported by one hell of a line-up which will include British indie pop favourites, Bastille, along with Dashboard Confessional, and local alternative rockers, Killing Heidi and Little Birdy.

    THE FRAY

    Following a triumphant return in 2024 after a decade-long hiatus, The Fray continue their next chapter with the release of their highly anticipated new album, A Light That Waits, arriving March 13. The album’s title track will be released January 23, marking the band’s first full-length body of new music in years and signaling a renewed creative era defined by emotional clarity and cinematic songwriting. 

    The multi-Platinum-selling band, composed of lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Joe King, guitarist Dave Welsh, and drummer Ben Wysocki, rose to prominence in the early 2000s with a soul-searching alt-rock sound that was both expansive and intimate. Over the course of their career, The Fray have earned four GRAMMY Award nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, multiple Billboard Top 10 hits, and a devoted global fanbase. Their breakout single, “How to Save a Life,” is RIAA Diamond-certified, spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, and became a defining anthem through its association with ABC’s Emmy-winning series Grey’s Anatomy. 

    Praised by Rolling Stone for their “stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives” and by the Los Angeles Times for their “melodically rich” songwriting, the band’s 2005 debut album How to Save a Life is RIAA-certified 4x Platinum in the U.S. and remains one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time. In support of A Light That Waits, The Fray will launch their new North American run, the Summer of Light Tour, with special guest Dashboard Confessional, kicking off in Canada this May and continuing throughout the summer.

    BASTILLE

    Over the course of over a decade together, Bastille’s unique sound – that cinematic, melancholic pop that masks the bleak realities reflected in their lyrics – has connected with audiences across the globe like no other British band in recent memory. In 2011 South Londoner, Dan Smith, started Bastille alone in his bedroom, releasing 300 copies of Bastille’s debut single. Relentless gigging, genuine word of mouth, some smartly curated mixtapes meant that within a few years — and with Chris Wood (drums), Will Farquarson (guitar) and Kyle Simmons (keyboards) added to the line-up – Bastille became a global phenomenon.

    The band’s chart-conquering twice No.1 debut album ‘Bad Blood’, which featured the international hit, ‘Pompeii’ was the biggest-selling digital album of 2013. They became that year’s biggest-selling global breakthrough act, with over a billion Spotify streams earning them the British Breakthrough Act award at the 2014 Brits, along with two Grammy nominations. Since then ‘Bad Blood’ has gone triple platinum and sold over 1 million copies in the UK alone.

    With over 11 million records sold, 6 UK top 40 singles and 1.7 billion video views, Bastille continue to be one of the world’s most streamed bands.

    DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL

    Singer/songwriter Christopher Carrabba became the poster boy for a generation of emo fans in the early 2000s. Armed with an acoustic guitar and soul-baring song lyrics, he christened his new project Dashboard Confessional -- named after a lyric in "The Sharp Hint of New Tears" -- and began releasing material in 2000.

    By 2001's The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, Dashboard Confessional had evolved into a full-fledged band, but Carrabba nevertheless remained the focal point of both the group and the rejuvenated emo genre. The band hit its mainstream peak with mid-decade releases A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar (2003) and Dusk and Summer (2006), releasing two more studio albums before retreating from the spotlight for almost a decade. Their only 2010s effort, Crooked Shadows, was issued in 2018. By the time they released a greatest-hits retrospective in 2020, they had become respected scene veterans with decades of earnest, timeless tracks.

    Killing Heidi are officially forever. Twenty years ago, when the disarming folk-pop of Kettle launched Ella and Jesse Hooper into high radio rotation, it was something neither expected. But tour after tour, the Violet Town siblings are finding their explosive power pop more entrenched in the Oz rock pantheon.

    There's a whole generation that doesn't need reminding that the early '00s belonged to Killing Heidi. Weir hit #2 and Mascara #14 in Triple J’s Hottest 100. Debut album Reflector won four major ARIA awards and sold 4 times platinum as Ella and Jesse took out the prestigious APRA Songwriters of the Year award in 2001.

    LITTLE BIRDY

    In 2025, Little Birdy returned from their 14 year hiatus for an illustrious sold-out tour celebrating the 21st anniversary of their iconic debut album, bigbiglove.

    Since their inception in 2003, Little Birdy has captivated audiences with their live energy and a sound that blends indie rock with a unique vulnerability. Honing their iconic sound in the Perth music scene, the band quickly cemented themselves as one of Australia's most influential alternative pop acts, led by the unmistakable emotional singularity of frontwoman Katy Steele’s voice.

    Their debut album bigbiglove became a defining release of the mid-2000s - anchored by unforgettable tracks like "Relapse" and "Beautiful To Me" which landed at #8 on Triple J’s Hottest 100. The album debuted at #5 on the ARIA charts, achieved platinum status, and spawned a sold-out national tour that saw fans singing every word in packed venues across Australia.

ABOUT THE VENUE

Sandstone Point Hotel is located at 1800 Bribie Island Road Sandstone Point. This magnificent site is open air, and patrons are encouraged to bring a low back camp chair (max 20cm leg height) to the event. Please note that picnic rugs are not permitted.

HOW DO I GET THERE?

PARKING
Parking is available on site which is a short distance to the main entry gates. Parking passes can be pre purchased for $5.00 + BF from the venue website or $10.00 on the day. Please note that as traffic will be at a premium there will be delays in entering and exiting the venue. Please prepare with this in mind.

BUSES
It is recommended that you utilise the venue’s bus service to arrive and leave the event. Pickup and drop off available from a variety of locations. More information & bookings can be found HERE.

DROP-OFF ZONE
There is a dedicated concert drop-off zone, which will be signposted.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING
Unreserved accessible parking is available near the venue entrance.Please inform car parking attendants and security upon arrival, and follow all signage and directions provided by traffic staff to reach the designated area.

This event will have a large range of food and beverage outlets open for the duration of the day. Please note, no outside food is allowed. A public Bar will operate offering a range of Beer, Wine, Cider, Spirits and Non-Alcoholic Beverages. All vendors will accept cash or card payments.

MERCHANDISE

The Merchandising Truck will be on site and will feature a large range of official Lookout Merchandise, as well as artist offerings.

First Aid is located on site for the duration of the event. If you are feeling unwell or need medical attention at any time, please visit the First Aid Marquee.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION

Unreserved accessible parking is available near the hotel entry. Please follow signage and directions of traffic staff to this area. Once inside the venue, an accessible viewing area is available approximately 50 metres from the stage front. The accessible viewing area is at ground level. The area is reserved for disabled patrons and their immediate accredited carer.

An accessible bathroom is located in the main hotel building or external toilet compounds.

Please note that this is an outdoor venue with uneven surfaces and is open to the elements.

BOX OFFICE

The Box Office is located at the concert entry point and will be open from 60 minutes prior to gates opening, and until the headline artist commences.

Please have your ticket downloaded and ready to scan at the gate, with your phone brightness turned up.

TICKETING POLICY

The official ticketing agency for this event is Ticketmaster. Lookout takes no responsibility for tickets purchased outside of the official agency. Tickets purchased through third parties such as Viagogo, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, Ebay or other sites are done so at the customer’s own risk. Fraudulent tickets will not be honoured.

Once a ticket purchase is completed, there are no refunds or exchanges available. In purchasing a ticket to this event, the purchaser acknowledges that any government mandates, public health orders or inability to attend due to illness or other changed circumstances does not render the purchaser eligibility for a refund or exchange.

WEATHER POLICY

This event is an open-air concert that will proceed rain, hail or shine. In the very unlikely event of a cancellation, ticketholders will be advised by SMS, Email and social media.

The event will only be cancelled if the site is deemed unsafe to proceed/continue. This decision will be made by Event Management, Venue Management and Emergency Services. Patrons are advised to come prepared for the elements with appropriate attire, footwear, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, and rain poncho.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

It is a condition of entry that all bags, chairs and personal belongings are presented to Security Staff for inspection.

Patrons detected with contraband items such as alcohol will be refused entry without refund.

Please also note that the event has a no Pass Out policy, so please come prepared for the full day.
